AVCGI is a non profit association formulated for the artists, by the artists, of the artists. Its aim is to rope in the entire Animation, Visual Effects, Comic and Gaming industry under one roof. This revolutionary step has been proposed by prominent industry experts after a thorough research on the current scenario of the creative industry. As like any other entertainment division, at AVCGI all the creative entrepreneurs and academicians get together to discuss agendas related to the requirement of the industry and provide possible solutions.
The Global AVCG Industry is in dearth of creative professionals and India is able to occupy only 1% of the global market as per various survey reports. To bridge the demand and supply gap, Telangana Government has taken initiation to uplift this creative industry by offering various subsidies, tax benefits etc.
This association acts as a bridge between the Industry and the Government in formulating various policies for the upliftment of the industry. It also conducts timely seminars and workshops, Train the Trainer programs with the help of industry guru’s to make sure that every creative need is met at all the stages of learning.
Taking another step to make Hyderabad the country’s startup capital of the country, the Telangana government along with STPI on Saturday launched an incubation facility for startups, particularly in gaming and animation.
Telangana Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao formally inaugurated Innovation in Multimedia, Animation, Gaming & Entertainment (IMAGE) Building.
Spread over 30,000 square feet in Hitec City, the IT hub, the facility has been developed at a cost of Rs 8 crore, said Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) director C.V.D. Ramprasad. Innovation in Multimedia, Animation, Gaming & Entertainment (IMAGE), as the facility is known, can seat 232 startups/new companies in the sector. To work under the umbrella of T-Hub, the facility will create the eco-system for the new players.
The launch came exactly a month after inauguration of T-Hub, billed as the largest technology incubator in the country. He said an international conference on gaming, animation, multimedia and visual effects will be held in February next year.
KTR said, Hyderabad will become startup capital of the country and IMAGE is the first step towards developing a gaming and animation city. The foundation stone will be laid for gaming and animation city during international conference to be held in February
