Asterix is a
series of French comics and the series’ first seemed in theFranco-Belgian comics in the world. It is translated into over
languages and it is famous in most European countries. Tintinbefore it, Asterix: Le Domain
de Dievx(Land of the Gods)
is getting the 3D animated. The studio has released their first still image and
poster through Films Animation. To date, 325 million copies of 34 Asterix books
have been sold all over the world, making co-creators René Goscinny and Albert
Uderzo France’s bestselling authors abroad.
The success of the series has led to the
adaptation of various books into 12 films: eight animated, and live with four actors.
There have been a number of games based on the characters, and a theme park
near Paris, Parc Astérix, is themed around the series.
The Foundry Road Show India 2016 is happening in the month of November, same like last year. The Foundry is very proactive in such activities. They also took initiative of organizing the very first India meet up for Virtual Reality (VR) along with ARK Infosolutions. The roadshow event is sponsored by Lenovo. Registration is compulsory for all aspirant digital artists. Seats will be distributed on first come first serve basis.
Phenakistoscope (1831) A phenakistoscope disc by Eadweard Muybridge (1893).The phenakistoscope was an early animation device. It was invented in 1831 simultaneously by the Belgian Joseph Plateau and the Austrian Simon von Stampfer. It consists of a disk with a series of images, drawn on radii evenly spaced around the center of the disk. Slots are cut out of the disk on the same radii as the drawings, but at a different distance from the center. The device would be placed in front of a mirror and spun. As the phenakistoscope is spun, a viewer would look through the slots at the reflection of the drawings which would only become visible when a slot passes by the viewer's eye. This created the illusion of animation.
