2021 Atlanta Film Festival Film Submissions Are OPEN
The show must go on! Though we had to reschedule the 44th Atlanta Film Festival to September 2020, we are still a
spring festival at heart and plan to maintain business as usual for our 45th edition. This call for entry is ONLY for
the 45th Atlanta Film Festival, running April 22 - May 2, 2021. Submissions received will not be considered for the
44th ATLFF this September.
We are celebrating our 45th year April 22 - May 2, 2021 and we are calling on you to make it the best yet! One of the largest and longest-running festivals in the country, ATLFF showcases the work of both emerging and
established artists. In addition, the Atlanta Film Festival is one of less than twenty US film festivals that is Academy Award®-
qualifying in all three categories: Narrative Short, Documentary Short, and Animated Short. Recent festivals have seen
audiences of over 28,000 film-lovers joining over 300 attending filmmakers in support of works that push the boundaries of
independent cinema.
Last year, we received over 8,500 (consisting of 7,200+ films and 1,300+ screenplays) works submitted from more than 120
countries across all 6 populated continents (sorry, Antarctica). Now is when we are hard at work programming next years
festival. Out of nearly 200 films that play ATLFF each year, roughly 85% - 95% come from submissions! In
programming our annual festival, we look for groundbreaking works in narrative and documentary features and short films,
animations, experimental films, puppetry films, music videos, virtual reality films, episodic pilots, food films and family friendly features.
