Dublin Animation Film Festival, 5th year, on 16th & 17th October

September 16th, 2015
Dublin Animation Film Festival (DAFF) is the only festival in Ireland that is dedicated completely to showcasing animated films. Our goal is to showcase animated films by Irish and international animators, holding industry related events and introducing the joy of animation and creativity to children and ‘beginners’ of all ages. DAFF can be traced to a small event in Blackrock, County Dublin in August 2011 which was supported by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Since 2011, the Festival has evolved from screenings at a former church in one afternoon to a two-day annual event in October.
2014 was a wonderful year for Dublin Animation Film Festival. We received 201 entries and moved the screenings to a new venue - the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire. For our events we were joined by guest animators from the US and UK including Bill and Sandrine Plympton, (Plymptoons Studios), Will Becher (Aardman Studios), Aaron Wood (Slurpy Studios) and Student Oscar winner Kristina Yee.
We took a short rest, but we are now planning for DAFF 2015 – so be sure to keep checking this site for updates!
