The film, originally titled "Tenki no Ko", is directed by Makoto Shinkai. Its a masterpiece. 

The announcement follows an online petition to bring the film to India, which went viral since April this year and has garnered over 50,000 signatures. The petition gained momentum after the trailer release of the film all over the world. 

"Ever since the petition happened in India, I kept receiving a lot of messages from Indian fans who are eager to watch the film in movie theatres. I have been overwhelmed by their pureness and passion. Now, I feel I could carry out the promise with the fans in India. I am looking forward to the film being well received by the fans who live in the country of movie and mythology," Shinkai said: 

"Weathering With You" is distributed in India by the theatre-on-demand platform Vkaao and backed by BookMyShow and PVR Pictures. 

 Weathering with You is a 2019 Japanese animated romantic fantasy drama film film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai and produced by CoMix Wave Films, following the 2016 film Your Name. The film takes place when Japan is going through a period of exceptionally rainy weather. It tells the story of Hodaka Morishima, a high-school teenager who has run away to Tokyo and befriends an orphan girl named Hina Amano, who appears to be able to manipulate the weather. The film was produced by Genki Kawamura and Story Inc., with music composed by Radwimps. It was released in it's home country, Japan on July 19, 2019. A novel adaptation is written by Shinkai was published on July 18, 2019, one day before the film's debut. It is one of his original works. A manga adaptation illustrated by Watari Kubota first serialized in Kodansha's Afternoon on July 25, six days after the film's release
